Kuala Penyu is a town located in Interior Division of Sabah, east Malaysia on the island of Borneo. Its population was estimated to be around 16,511 in 2000, with ethnic Kadazan or Dusun Tatana forming the largest single ethnic group. Kuala Penyu was declared as full district in year 1975 and established as focal point for administrative and business centre. This district call as Kuala Penyu - derive from a group stones forming types of "Turtle" or call penyu situated at river bank or Kuala (in Malay). In early 60's this area popular call as "setompok" where it refer to a group stones. Today this valuable form of stone slowly disappear. This are some picture show about tradisional custom of Dusun Tatana. Basically, the tradisional custom material are made from 'marinjon' which means a black cloth in Dusun Tatana language. The custom are sewn with variuos ornaments such as golden threads for the embroidery, colourfull beads, and jingles for the girls custom. The accessories that are used by dusun Tatana girls around their waist are chains of 4cm in diameter silver coins called the ringgit. The custom for the girls are called 'Sira Lambung' while for the boys are called 'Sira Babalian'.
